Privacy Policy

ASL Ed Center, LLC (doing business as ASL Education Center) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides this Privacy Policy for our websites and services (the “Services”), including asledcenter.com, auth.asledcenter.com, and our education products.

This is an organization-wide baseline. Individual products may publish additional notices later. It is written to support Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft on our Auth Gateway.

2. Information collected

AEC may collect:

  • Account information provided by you or received at sign-in (name, email, organization)
  • Sign-in identity data from Google or Microsoft (see below)
  • Support communications 
  • Technical and usage data such as IP address, device/browser type, and pages or features used
  • Content you submit in a product (for example, materials you upload where that product allows it)

Support communications, technical and usage data, and content you submit are not obtained through Google or Microsoft sign-in.


3. Sign-in with Google and Microsoft

Sign in is possible using Google (personal or Workspace) or Microsoft (personal or work/school via Microsoft Entra ID), or other methods we offer (email/password or a school identity provider).


What AEC accesses from Google and Microsoft

We request only basic sign-in scopes (openid, email, and profile, and comparable Microsoft permissions). We typically receive:

  • Name or display name
  • Email address
  • A stable account identifier
  • Basic profile fields the provider includes with those scopes (for example, a profile picture URL, if available)

We do not access your Google or Microsoft email inbox, calendar, contacts, Drive/OneDrive, or other content beyond what is needed to identify and authenticate your account.


How we use, store, and share that data

We use Google and Microsoft identity data only to verify your identity, create or match your ASL Education Center account, grant access you are authorized to have, provide support and security, and prevent abuse.

We store that data in our account and authentication systems for as long as your account is active and as needed for security, support, and legal obligations.

We share it only with service providers that help us operate authentication and hosting, with your organization when you use the Services through an institutional arrangement, or when required by law. We do not sell Google or Microsoft user data. We do not use it for advertising.

Use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.


Revoking access

You can revoke our access in your Google Account or Microsoft account permissions settings, or contact us about closing your account. Revoking access may prevent sign-in until you reconnect a method we support.


4. How we use information generally

We use information to provide and improve the Services, manage accounts, provide support, protect security, comply with law, and send service-related notices.


5. How we share information generally

We may share information with service providers acting on our behalf, with your institution when you use institutional Services, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.


6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate sign-in, keep you signed in, and understand use of the Services. You can control cookies in your browser; some features may not work if they are disabled.


7. Retention and security

We retain information as needed to provide the Services and meet legal and operational requirements. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.


8. Children and student information

Google and Microsoft sign-in on our Auth Gateway is intended for adults (for example, teachers, staff, and administrators). We do not offer Google or Microsoft sign-in as a way for children to create accounts.

Where a school or district uses a Service such as ASLA to administer assessments, the school enters and manages student information under its relationship with us. Additional education-privacy rules and institutional agreements may apply to that data. Those practices are separate from Google/Microsoft identity data described in Section 3.

If you believe we have collected a child’s personal information inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.


9. Your choices

You may update account information where the product allows, manage Google or Microsoft connections in your provider settings, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to law and institutional requirements.


10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version with a new effective date.
