Frequently Asked Questions
What services does ASL Education Center provide?
We provide professional ASL translation produced in our own video studio, the ASLA standardized assessment for preK–12 students, community screenings of our documentary Unmasking Deaf Education, and research projects such as ASL Clear and Sign Language First.
Who uses your ASL translation services?
Schools, states, assessment companies, and businesses depend on AEC for video materials that connect with their ASL-signing audiences — from curriculum and statewide test content to workplace training and communication.
What is the ASLA?
The American Sign Language Assessment (ASLA) is a computer-based standardized test of ASL language arts skills for preK–12 students. It is shown to be valid and reliable, and Individual Student Reports display population-referenced results on ten vocabulary, grammar, and syntax subtests. AEC is the sole source provider.
How does the translation process work?
Every project moves through four stages: content research, expert translation by subject matter experts and native ASL signers, multiple reviewed drafts to ensure accuracy and cultural appropriateness, and final production in our fully equipped studio.
How can we host a screening of Unmasking Deaf Education?
